Brass

Brass is an alloy made primarily of copper and zinc.

The proportions of the copper and zinc are varied to yield many different kinds of brass. The basic modern one is 67% copper and 33% zinc.

Often has a bright gold appearance, however, it can also be reddish-gold or silvery-white. A higher percentage of copper yields a rosy tone, while more zinc makes the alloy appear silver.

Resists corrosion, including galvanic corrosion from saltwater. This is why is preferred to copper by surfer. They can wear it without having to fear of black – brownish marks on the skin.

Brass is attributed to Mars, and is a protective metal that enhances courage, healing and attracts abundance and wealth.
