Prehnite Meanings

This mineral was first discovered by A.G. Werner in 1788. Werner named it after the Dutch military colonel Hendrik von Prehn, who was responsible for the region where this mineral was found.

Prehnite occurrence:

Prehnite has a delicate yellow-green color, occasionally white or translucent portions are mixed in. Since the first discovery, prehnite has been found in China, Scotland, Australia, the United States, and New Zealand. In 2000, an extremely rare occurrence of orange prehnite was discovered at the N’chwaning mine in South Africa. By 2002, the vein was completely depleted and no more orange prehnite has been found to date.

Effects of Prehnite

As yet, not much is known about its powers compared to many stones that have been popular. Basic information about its properties is available, but there is much still to be learned!

Being a stone of healers, it was not mentioned as often as other stones. He was not so often used for the public.

Prehnite cleaning, charging and discharging

Prehnite can lose some of its color over time when exposed to light and air. Therefore, store this stone in a cool, dark place in an opaque container. This stone is also brittle and splits easily, so it must be stored in a padded envelope or box.

To charge your prehnite, first hold it in your hands under running water. If you can find a natural spring, that’s great, but if not, a faucet will do.
When you are satisfied with how the energy of the water has cleansed the stone, place your prehnite in direct moonlight overnight.
