Meanings

Named after the Seraphim, the highest order of angels, the Seraphinite shows the plumage of the Seraphim wings – the iridescent silvery reminiscent of the movement of the wings, captured in a crystal of deep forest green.

Seraphinite is a gem variety of Clinochlore, a magnesium iron aluminum silicate, characterized by a deep green color laced with shimmering patterns of silver that reflect light with changing angles of viewing. It is found only in the Lake Baikal region of Siberia, Russia, and derives its name from its association with the Seraphim, the highest order of angels.
