Tanzanite Crystals / Tansanit-Kristalle

Tanzanite Meanings and occurence

Tanzanite is truly an exceptional gemstone because it is found in only one place in the world: Tanzania, East Africa, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tanzanite consists of calcium aluminum silicate as a blue variety of the gemstone zoisite and has a hardness between 6.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale. Therefore, it is very sensitive and should not come into contact with acid, nor should it be cleaned in an ultrasonic device. The sensitive stone already causes the gemstone cutter some headaches, because due to its structure, the cleavage is very pronounced. Nevertheless, the gemstone is cut into almost all possible shapes and therefore literally presents itself with a wealth of facets that is exemplary.

The blue, surrounded by a light touch of purple, is probably the most sought-after color of tanzanite. This blue ranges from pale violet-blue to imposing ultramarine. The tanzanite effect is best seen in large stones – usually of more than ten carats. Then you can also clearly see the multicolor effect that results when you change the angle of view.

This makes the tanzanite particularly unique. It is one of the few known gemstones that have a multidimensional color. That is, if you look at it from three different directions, you will see three different colors. This phenomenon is called trichroic.

Effects of Tanzanite

It is one of the most valuable of all metaphysical crystals for spiritual exploration, bringing together all aspects of communication and psychic power. Its high vibrational energy invites protection and safety in linking with higher realms, and allows for deep profound meditation. It is particularly helpful in uniting the mind and heart, teaching one to live from a compassionate heart with an illumined mind. [Melody, 634][Hall II, 335-336][Simmons, 392]

The unusual charisma of these gemstones is hard to resist, especially since the colors seem to speak their own language and embody an unconventional and, as it were, flawless extravagance. Tanzanites stand for self-confidence and individualism. It is said that a tanzanite promotes logical thinking and is helpful in cases of depression and lack of concentration.

Tanzanite emits strong spiritual vibrations and develops a deep connection between body, mind and spirit.
The stone gives you the emotional strength to break free from the status quo and do what makes your soul feel alive. You will find the courage needed to see past limitations and overcome the hurdles that stand in your way to fulfill your heart’s desires.

Worn as jewelry, Tanzanite not only stays within one’s auric field and brings one’s consciousness to a permanently higher state, but brings the positive self-awakening qualities to others who see its beauty. [Simmons, 392]

Physically

Tanzanite is said to strengthen the immune system, detoxify the blood and improve vitality. It promotes the regeneration of cells, skin and hair, and protects against the side-effects of medical or surgical intervention. [Eason, 221]

Tanzanite is useful in treating psychological disorders, stress, and nervous tension, and is excellent for the problem of excessive sweating. It may relieve migraine headaches, and in conjunction with other treatments such as counseling, can help in curing chronic alcoholism. [Megemont, 174-175]

The healing effect of Tanzanite on the psyche is expressed in the easier planning of activities and their energetic implementation. The blue Tanzanite makes us aware of our actual calling and leads us to knowledge to discover the right path in life. It supports the acceptance of change and is also said to have positive effects on mild depression.

Tanzanite helps in overcoming experiences of fear and crises, and in re-building trust. It helps solve questions related to the meaning of life, and in coming to terms with oneself. [Gienger, 84]

Tanzanite is the most effective stone for linking and attuning the Heart Chakra to the Third Eye. Bringing the heart into cooperation with the mind expands one’s search for wholeness and keeps one centered in compassionate humanity. [Simmons, 392]

Tanzanite Spiritual Energy:

Tanzanite’s high vibrational energy and shifting colors raises one’s consciousness, linking to the angelic realms, spirit guides, Ascended Masters and Christ consciousness. Tanzanite is a Dispeller and Unifying crystal.

Dispeller crystals are helpful talismans to ease the everyday worries of our physical, mental and spiritual problems. Dispellers are also known as restorers. They put things back in order when they are out of balance.

Unifiers enhance our efforts to connect with others and help keep people together and happy. Unifiers are also great talismans for collaborative group efforts. They support cooperation, loyalty, and faithfulness.

Tanzanite cleaning, charging and discharging

Once a month, tanzanite should be discharged under lukewarm running water.
The sensitive gemstone is best charged overnight in a vessel with water, in which you also place sapphires and rock crystals.
If the tanzanite is built into a jewelry, to discharge and recharge, you should put overnight in a vessel with hematite tumbled stones.
